biography

JUDE BRADLEY is an author, journalist, editor and producer living in the Greater Boston area. At 17, she started her career as a reporter for The Sunday Independent. Since then, she has worked as a journalist, TV and theater critic, columnist, feature writer and is a fiction and non-fiction author. She published and served as Editor-in-Chief for her own arts and education magazine and has been instrumental in promoting local artists within the community. She was also Managing Editor on several national magazines.

            A film, television and theatre enthusiast, Jude found a niche at Variety, where she served as an editor, designer and writer. She has also written for Time-Life/HBO, LA Weekly, Daily Pilot Newspapers and The Bakersfield Californian.

            She taught creative writing for both city and county sponsored programs in the Greater Los Angeles area and had developed a series of writing workshops for adults and teens that included: poetry, screenwriting, character development, dialogue, and television and film history among other topics.

            Jude, along with Louisiana native, Chere Dastugue Coen, is co-author of "Magic's in the Bag," (Llewellyn 2010), a detailed metaphysical book about the far-reaching traditions of gris gris bags and spell sachets.

           She has also hosted workshops on Spiritual Alignment and Writing your Spiritual Truth, and created Effective Journaling, a program that guides participants to use the journaling process as a tool to self-discovery and life management. She also fronted, Your Creative Spirit, a discussion format seminar designed to help participants explore their often untapped creative sensibilities and apply them to daily life.

          In 2010, she produced, and was a participant in, "Enlighten Up - Transcending Fear," a panel discussion which included such notables as Ronald Alexander Ph.D. ("Wise Mind/Open Mind"), best-selling author, the late Candace Pert Ph.D. and Dr. Judith Orloff. The event was recorded for limited DVD release.

          Jude worked closely with film editor, Susan E. Kesler, on "The Wild Wild West, the Series," the quintessential book on the popular 1960s television sci-fi western. In 2018, Jude re-edited and redesigned the official 30th Anniversary edition of the book available on Amazon.  

           Having completed several screenplays. She also has a stage play in development at a regional New England theater. Jude is currently working on two novellas: "Interminatus," a paranormal thriller and "Thread," a psychological crime story set in Boston, as well as the novel, "Milkweed." In addition, she is working on a collection of short experimental fiction. Her short story, "The Paper House," appeared in the Prime Mincer literary journal.
